Joyous Entry on September 22

On Sunday 22 September , Margaret of Parma will be welcomed in the town centre of Oudenaarde. she will pay a solemn visit to our town with a joyful entry. It will be a parade accompanied by a lot of ceremonial play, music and spectacle. In the procession, you can meet Margaret herself and some special guests. She brings along some Oudenaard musicians, Oudenaard flag bearers and also vandal bearers as well as 134 extras from eight Italian cities that played a role in the life of this grande dame. The finale of the parade is a real horse show, directed by Dietrich Verzele ( Zafara).
 

Will you come along to welcome Margaret?

You can come and welcome Margaretha along the route of the procession, which starts in the Hoogstraat and goes to the Markt, turns in along the library (Voorburg), then goes via Burgscheldestraat and then, as tradition dictates and as the organ point of the procession, enters the Markt via Broodstraat. There, Margaretha will be festively welcomed by residents and sympathisers.
