The Tour of Flanders in Oudenaarde

The arrival is ours!

When the spring sunshine breaks through, Oudenaarde gets geared up for a new international cycling climax. With flags and pennants flapping, hundreds of thousands of fans choose the best spots to egg on their heroes. The iconic obstacles and wretched cobblestones wait impatiently for the arrival of the world teams. The Flemish Ardennes are ready for it.

The most notorious cycling sections loom in the last 75 km, from the Koppenberg and the Hotond to the Oude Kwaremont and the Paterberg. Riders and fans eagerly look forward to the finale in the centre of Oudenaarde. The champions sprint to the finish line. Who will share the podium place with Alberto Bettiol, Philippe Gilbert, Tom Boonen and other cycling gods? In the cycling city, you experience it first-hand: live and on a big screen. The Donkmeer and the market square have been turned into the epicentre of the racing world. All elements are present to turn it into a big folk festival.

The Saturday before the tour, tens of thousands of sporty cyclists ride their Tour of Flanders during the 'We Ride Flandres' cyclo. Just like their idols, they defy the Flemish slopes and cobbled sections. Starting from noon, thousands of sporty cyclists from Belgium and beyond cross the finish line. Wait for your partner at the finish line and in the meantime, enjoy all that Oudenaarde has to offer: have a browse in the shopping streets or enjoy a snack and a drink on one of the welcoming terraces on the market square of Oudenaarde.
