Exhibition De Ronde op Tafel

Tour tables and Tour trophies by Jean-Marie Waelkens

Jean-Marie Waelkens is the creator of the tables from the TV programme Vive le Vélo and of the Ronde van Vlaanderentafel in the Centre of the same name in Oudenaarde city centre. In the run-up to Flanders's Most Beautiful edition 2024, he and the city are organising a free unique exhibition of highly remarkable wooden art objects full of cycling history.

He unites some tables from the Tour de France, signed by many a cycling great, in a unique exhibition in the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwhospitaal. He complements this collection with special trophies and medallions in wood for the racing heroes who were able to add the Tour of Flanders to their palmares more than once. Speaking of writing: many of the art objects on display are signed by the lauded riders themselves or by other important people involved in cycling.
