Koppenberg Forest
When we hear the word Koppenberg, we spontaneously think of the infamous climb of the Tour of Flanders. But the legendary cobbled hill has even more in store. Nearby is the Koppenberg forest. It's worthwhile to stop there for a break. With its 36 hectares, this is an oasis of peace and quiet. Century-old summer oaks with majestic crests, maple and beech trees. A harmony of scents and colours: from red wild cherry through spicy honeysuckle to a sea of violet-blue bluebells. Not to forget the wood anemones and wild daffodils. Butterflies and songbirds feel right at home here. A precious area where history and nature go hand in hand. After all, the devastation of the First World War left its mark here. Enjoy a beautiful walk with many panoramic views, with the odd tough ascent thrown in. Outline a walk using the hiking network or follow the signposted paths.
